80s teen idol Corey Haim dead at 38
According to the LA Times:
“Actor Corey Haim has died at the age of 38, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to KTLA. Haim died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday of an apparent accidental overdose, according to the LAPD’s North Hollywood Division. He was found unresponsive at an Oakwood apartment, near Burbank, police said. The actor, who has struggled with drug addiction, was pronounced dead Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank, police said.”
We all know Corey Feldman will be first in line to talk about how sad he is during this great loss for Hollywood. And to quote my buddy Dennis: “I can’t wait until Feldman memorializes Haim in song. He finished the song years ago, he’s just been waiting” And if you didn’t get that read this post where Feldman uses Michael Jacksons death to promote his upcoming music gig. Class act I tell ya.
I have to admit I’m a little sad, I guess I have to stop waiting for Lucas 2 or Licensed to Drive 2 now.

I knew there was a reason I didn’t want to see this shitty movie. Not only is it shitty but it can kill you. According to News.Com.Au a dude died days after seeing this and his doctor blames the movie.

* “First death linked to Avatar”A 42-year-old Taiwanese man with a history of high blood pressure has died of a stroke likely triggered by over-excitement from watching the blockbuster Avatar in 3D, a doctor says.
The man, identified only by his surname Kuo, started to feel unwell during the screening earlier this month in the northern city of Hsinchu and was taken to hospital.
Mr Kuo, who suffered from hypertension, was unconscious when he arrived at the Nan Men General Hospital and a scan showed that his brain was haemorrhaging, emergency room doctor Peng Chin-chih said today.
“It’s likely that the over-excitement from watching the movie triggered his symptoms,” the doctor said.
Mr Kuo died 11 days later from the brain haemorrhage, and the China Times newspaper said it was the first death linked to watching James Cameron’s science-fiction epic Avatar.
Film blogging sites have reported complaints of headaches, dizziness, nausea and blurry eyesight from viewers of Avatar and other movies rich in 3D imagery.
So there you have it. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, don’t! If you have seen this movie in the last 11 days seek medical attention immediately. If you have seen this movie and liked it please leave my site and don’t come back because you’re clearly not my target audience and probably don’t get the jokes anyway ya unoriginal lemming.

The “Chappaquiddick incident” refers to the circumstances surrounding the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, a former campaign worker for the assassinated U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy of New York.
In July 1969, Kopechne’s body was discovered inside an overturned car belonging to Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy of Massachusetts under water in a tidal channel on Chappaquiddick Island, Massachusetts.
After the body was found, Kennedy gave a statement to police saying that on the previous night he had taken a wrong turn and accidentally driven his car off a bridge into the water. He pleaded guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury, and received a suspended sentence.
The incident became a national scandal, and may have affected the Senator’s decision not to run for President in 1972.
Billy Mays too!!??!?!?!?
WTF!? TV pitchman Billy Mays is found DEAD in his home. This is just fucked up. Ed McMohan, Farah Faucet, Michael Jackson, and now BILLY FUCKING MAYS. An autopsy will be done by Monday afternoon to see why he died. My guess is all the OxyClean in his system. Maybe Kaboom. That shit can’t be good for you. Now it’s sad that we lost Billy Mays but what really, really pisses me off is that all we have left is Vince “I beat hookers then clean up the mess with a ShamWow” Shlomi for an infomercial salesmen. Billy was a really wholesome inviting character. Vince scares the shit out of me.
Diesels Are Killing People?!

Ok, so we’ve been hearing for many years that the car is to blame for global warming and that we, as people, need to stop it. So what do we do? Well, we buy stupid hybrids, electric cars, and diesels. All of those options are more carbon efficient than petrol. However, the latter might be killing people.
According to a London Assembly report, air pollution in the UK capital may have contributed to the deaths of some 3,000 people in the year 2005. Further, while not as important as the health of London’s populace, the report estimates that these health-related issues cost £20 billion per year to treat. The main culprit for the city’s poor air quality? Diesel engines. Says Darren Johnson, Chair of the London Assembly’s Environment Committee:
London’s air pollution is a serious problem now and for future generations. Reducing air pollution is not just about improving the environment in some abstract way. Our report shows that it’s about saving lives.
Diesel engines are extremely popular in Europe, due in part to a set of regulations favoring the oil-burners low carbon emissions figures. While it’s true that diesel engines are more efficient than their gas-swilling siblings, they aren’t quite as squeaky clean when judged based on nitrogen oxide or particulate matter emissions, though new technology is improving these shortcomings every day.
Now, diesels are starting to become more popular in the US. BMW is sending over a 3-series and a 5-series diesel sometime in the near future and Mercedes is also bringing its E class diesel to shores in 2010.
But, that little thing from London had no evidence, no statistics, no facts. So VW started this consumer blog in which they test new diesel technology. And, from the video, it looks pretty clean! Check it out:
I’m still waiting for facts to be released about the London deal, but as none have been accounted for, I’m just going to say that they are just trying to get the populace to buy shitty, electric, econo-boxes.
