(WARNING: the following review contains a politically right leaning prospective that may adversely affect those of you that are left of center)

For those of you not familiar with Steyn, let me enlighten you a bit. The simplest way to explain his conservative views is to say that when our buddy Rush takes some time off, Steyn fills in. Get it?? If you have never heard him on the EIB network,your missing a very astute. articulate speaker. Granted, Steyn’s views are controversial, however his knowledge and understanding of the ‘real’ world is uncanny.

This one-of-a-kind book is $^%&# scary. What we get from Steyn is page after page of frightening decisions, regulations and government intervention that, if continued, will bring the free world to its knees (half way there now). Example after example, Steyn takes the reader down the path of eroding freedoms affecting the entire free world. Using historical references and current and pending dictates proving his hypothesis, the reader begins to see the methods used by our trusted (ugh) leaders to transform the world. Does ‘hope and change’ sound familiar? Does the collapse of world banks concern you? Do bails outs upset you? Does the de-value of the US currency cause you to panic? If any of this pisses you off or if your comfortable with the status quo, then read this book. Whatever your belief system is, i strongly recommend this book.

Steyn paints a disturbing picture of the future as well as the present. I believe that reading this excellent book will inspire the reader to think about where we are and hopefully not where we are heading. I am well aware of the controversy this review will incite however, aren’t books supposed to stimulate the mind? If your looking for light reading ,this aint the book for you.But if your looking for some real hard hitting facts affecting all of us, then this is the book for you. Be forewarned!
