NEW Facebook Timeline available to ALL USERS (updated)

New Facebook Timeline

Update from Slashgear.comFacebook has confirmed to us that there is no way to return to the old-style profile once you have switched to Timeline. Those who choose not to opt-in to Timeline will be automatically updated.

“Facebook’s opt-in period will be available for a few weeks” a Facebook spokesperson told SlashGear. “After that, we will begin moving the people who have not yet opted in over to the new profile.”

So yeah from that update it basically says either change now and get a jump on it or we are going to change it in a few weeks anyway. So don’t think “well I don’t like it and I’m sticking with the old one” Not going to happen. There is no way in hell Facebook is going to let some users have one type of profile and other users have another.

It’s official! Today Facebook rolled out the new timeline. You know what that means right….. Your wall is going to be flooded with people bitching and moaning at how much they hate it, it sucks and they are leaving. Didn’t we just hear all these morons complain with the new wall rollout a few months ago. I even remember some saying “I’m leaving if they don’t change it back”. How the fuck did that work out for you?

I have been running the new timeline for months now. I got the developer code and think it’s pretty AWESOME!! It is WAY different then before but once you get over the initial shock of it the flow and setup is pretty simple. It’s very clean and more like a personal blog then just a lame social media profile page. Trust me, you will grow to like it a lot. Don’t be a hater like everyone else is going to be. I could sit here and give you one of those “oh you can do this” “you can do that” and walkthroughs but soon enough you will figure it out.

My understanding is that right now the new timeline is something you have to “opt” in for but I’m sure soon enough they will roll it out for ALL users like they do with most things. It was the same for this past profile and just about every change Facebook makes. For a few months it’s by choice then Facebook made the change for everyone. So listen, get a jump on your moronic lame friends and make the change. For more information and to make the jump check out the link below. You can be a pioneer. While all your friends are wasting time complaining about how it sucks, how much they hate it, you can spend time getting to know your way around, learning the new stuff and be that much ahead of the game. Listen, I know I have some old ass people who read this post. Do this before your kids even do it. So in a couple days now when they call you and say “Hey mom you know Facebook is about to change the profiles and before you freak out…..” You can cut their know-it-all hipster ass in mid sentence and say “Yeah I know, I’ve been running it for a while already, it’s pretty sick” and it will blow their fuckin’ minds!!!

I’m curious to see what people value more on Facebook: Their wall or their profiles. This fucks with your profile like crazy!! The last update messed with your wall. That last update people went bat shit crazy and were screaming bloody murder!!! “How dare a FREE service like Facebook make a change that I choose to use out of my own free will and in no way shape or form has any significant effect on my daily life cause me a slight inconvenience! Fuck you Facebook, you bunch of fuckin assholes. I’m outta here!!! Bitches!!” Wow!!!! is your life that bad??? Holy shit!!! Remember it’s a free service!!! It’s a social media site. This isn’t life! It’s a damn profile pics. It’s one chromosome above a dating site for fucks sake. You don’t NEED Facebook in your life. You will be find if they decided to shut the fuckin thing down tomorrow and if you “lose all your pictures” then you’re the asshole for not backing them up. Do you think a FREE service owes you ANYTHING????

And for he love of god!!!!!!! “Facebook” isn’t a person so honestly when you type something like “Facebook better change the profile back or I’m leaving” there is no one reading that but your friends. Listen morons half of you have your pages set to private!! This Facebook person isn’t even your friend!?!?! If your post isn’t even PUBLIC how the fuck do you think anyone other then your 50 friends are even going to see that post? Who the fuck are you even talking to?!?!? So please stop with the messages to this “Facebook” person, they aren’t changing it! Esp with a silent outcry on a private page asshole. Fuck, do I really have to keep teaching you people this stuff???

Enjoy the new profile change and instead of getting your little cyber panties in a bunch once again, just sit back, enjoy the new look, get use to it for a few days and enjoy your moronic friends freaking the fuck out over the change. Maybe you will look at all those posts in a different way now and instead of being a sheep you can actually get some enjoyment out of everyones freak outs! Trust me, this is like a personal Xmas gift from Facebook for me!!! I get so much of my motivation from the crazy people on Facebook this will keep this blog going well in to the New Year!! ;)

    P.S.
A word of advice to all the normal rational people out there. Anytime a free site (or a pay site or any site you may be a member of) makes a huge change like this, after you decide to use it, double check your settings. No roll out is ever perfect and sometimes things like privacy settings, accounts settings, profile information can get a little messed up. So before all the “OMFG if you make this change hackers will eat your puppies” posts come flooding your wall just double check all your settings and know that your cute little puppies are going to be safe.

This is good practice for any changes ever made on a computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet. If you update software, apps, programs, the OS itself it’s always a good habit to get in to your settings and make sure that everything went smoothly. For example if Firefox or Safari sends you an update it only takes a second to make sure that all your little boxes are checked (or unchecked) and that it’s setup the way you had it pre-update. Be a little more proactive and less clicky for the sake of clicking. In the long run you can make sure your system, the sites you belong to and your overall computer experience goes a little more smoothly.

Yes I too have a few friends bitching about it. Surprisingly enough I just slammed it up and moved on. Usually being a douche I like to complain about it all and threaten to leave forever lest they leave my stuff alone. But not this time. I surrendered. I must be evolving and accepting change now!! ;)

I did re-check every setting on every page, as you suggested. Things were fine and now I’m timelined and liking it!

I do have to say tho in some respects it is starting to remind me of myspace, sans music. Which btw was the one thing about myspace I preferred, the music.

Wait, that doesn’t qualify me as a hipster now does it?? ;)

Awesome E! Good for you. You’re just jumping in a head of the curve (until some lame ass local news story talks about it). Eventually like I said EVERYONEs page will be like that. There will not be an opt-in option so you are just getting a jump on being a hipster ;)

I changed to the timeline on my “no one will find me here” account. It’s fine, but since I only have this account to keep up with fan pages, it doesn’t matter anyway. Sorry, I’d write more, but it’s just Facebook and I have to go play MW3 now.

I have a better idea. Why don’t people get real lives and get the fuck off of Facebook? Get some freakin’ fresh air!
Yes, I say this as I sit on my ass commenting on some guy’s blog…

I try and fuck off FB at least twice a week. It does make your head mush!!

You get sucked into the cyber-box and your brains go out your ass all night.

Life is good, don’t miss out!! ;) Don’t forget to go be with REAL people too.

I’m slow to react to change, but I got the new FB timeline, finally…..before they socked it to me…so I could customize it the way I wanted to. It isn’t so bad. Everything is locked into it’s own little box..nice and tidy. It’s ok. I like it. When all the douchbags start complaining on my friends list (and I know they will), I’ll just smile and go to the next comment……! You can’t please all the people all the time…so I don’t even try.
    :) have a nice day!
